I walk dogs, and I get a pretty good pay, but it's time for a real job. Is there anything available at 14?

When I was 14 I worked at IHOP and Taco Bell. You have to get a form from your school that shows you are a student and that your parents are willing to let you work. My advise keep walking dogs and go to school! You will have more than enough time to work enjoy school while you can!

It depends where you are and what ways of transportation you have (would your parents drive you to work? could you walk there?). Just look around and see what business are hiring and are they convienient for you.

First you have to check with the school board central office to see if you need permission to get a job when in school (some places you do). Where I live, the employer has to get a letter from the school board giving permission to work for them). It is easy to get. Secondly, you have to check the child labor laws for your state to see what jobs you are allowed to get at your age and how many hours you work. You would get that information from the state department of labor (should easy to find with an internet search). Last, you go around to the types of employers you would enjoy and convince them that you will make their business better by you being there. Talk about responsibility and how you walk dogs.
Remember that you will get minimum wage at your age, and that you would probably make less per hour than walking dogs.
Also remember that at your age, schooling and grades are the most important thing if you plan on going to college. There are lots of scholarships for good grades and good ACT/SAT scores. You will have plenty of time in life to work, get money, and enjoy it.

This may be the worst answer in the world - but let's face it - McDonalds. I think you may be too young, but, McDonalds is where most people start. It looks good on a resume.
I've never worked there, but I have a great many friends who have, and have not regretted the experience it gave them.
Good luck.
