At what age can a person become a factory worker in America?

age

Best Answer:
Without special circumstances, currently 18 years old.
In order to regulate health & safety, prevent child labor abuses and to help promote universal education, laws are in effect to cover this.
Special circumstances would be:
Getting a "work permit" if under 18. This allows the government to regulate hours and types of work and to make sure time is left for schooling if the person is not a high school graduate.
Family members of the owner are allowed to do work at an age where a non-family member cannot be hired to do the same thing.
There may be variations on this from state to state, but this is a summary of the common restrictions.
A:
18 as far as I know. under 18 maybe can, but would have very strict regulations such as hours, can't operate machinery, etc.
