My stepdad had a stroke yesterday and he is a truckdriver....does anyone know if the trucking company will?

let him continue his employment with them after he recovers? Or will they not let him come back as a result of having a stroke?

more then lickly they will keep him employed until the doctor says ther is no way he can keep on truckin..the department of transportation will decide if your father can still drive after he recovers if he can still drive or not...Your fathers company should NOT dismiss your father til they hear if he will be able to drive or not..and from me and all the other TRUCKERS ,, i wish your father the best!!!!and hope to hear him back on the road REAL SOON

it depends the type of stroke+the affect it has on his future abilities. Your Dr. will be the one to ask. In early stage even the Dr. won't be able to provide you with an answer, it depends upon the score of recovery process too.

I'm fairly sure the trucking companys insurance company would inflate their rates severely if they are aware of your stepdads stroke. This may incite the trucking company to want stop him from driving. Maybe a discussion with the company about other positions within the company could held. Wish him luck and a full and speedy recovery.
