A restaurant is a great place to get all types of experience. If you are still at a restaurant, ask to cross train in the kitchen as a prep cook. This can lead to steady pay and a great way to boost your hours during the slow times. Also, try bartending. Bartenders earn a higher wage, and better tips. Once you've achieved these criteria, you can try sales in food and beverage( like a cool little gourmet deli or wine shop.) Also, there are a whole slew of serving jobs, from banquets to fine dining to country clubs, all with a variety of perks. Good luck!

No better way to hone your "people" skills than waiting tables! I, from experience, know this :) I LOVED waiting tables, and enjoyed meeting different people. You have built alot of consumer relations knowledge. If you are interested in office work, I would suggest trying some construction companies--reason being, is that I think they are a more lenient as far as training goes. Usually will have benefits too. NEVER forget to SELL yourself, and get the employer to consider ALL of your skills!! Good Luck!!
