The job is very repetitive. Call centers usually brew alot of gossip and marginal pay. They are a good place for advancement if you stay focused on the product, your performance and goals

I work at one and there are moments that are GREAT and moments that.......Well aren't. As with any job. It is mostly all about customer Service. The difference is we are not face to face with the customer. It takes all kinds of different attitudes to do this job as well as the ability to adapt to your surroundings and to overcome obstacles. The hardest part is not having ANY non-verbal communication. Good luck and I hope all goes well.

I've worked a couple of call center's for customer service, and I'll tell you it's not an easy job. It's not that the tasks are hard, you get used to the speed and system pretty soon, withing a week usually, but you have to remember that most people who call the customer service center don't call just to say that everything is fine and that they're really happy with their service. No, they usually call when they're mad or upset. You have to be ready for that, for the rude customers, for the incompetent ones, for the ones that don't understand what you're saying, and for the ones that just want to get away with something. Most are handle-able, you just have to stay calm and try to figure out what it is that they want and what you can offer them in return. But there are some customers that you won't be able to appease, you still have to stay calm and know when it's time to ask for help or to transfer to a higher up. Most of the issues you should be able to do yourself, the biggest thing is just being calm and patient, that above all will get you through the day.

I did that for 7 years. I used to have a pretty good opinion of people until I did that. Now I think that MOST people are rude and inconsiderate. I would never take another job as a customer service rep.

Your success depends on how you approach the position. Yes, the routine can become tedious, but you can control your reaction to it by making it fun or making it into a challenge. Most jobs have good and bad sides to them. The way we feel about what we do largely depends upon our attitude. Good luck.
