Why is it so hard to find a CDL class A job?
Asked by bigd0613
My fiance recently received his CDL from SC and he can't find anyone to give him a chance to start accumulating experience. How are people supposed to get tracotr/trailer experience if everyone requires it to start?

He should move to Florida. There are jobs for Class A license holders all over down here. Many firms will train someone, even if they are just holding a Class A permit. Since your fiance has his Class A license, he should be able to find something pretty readily, depending on his driving record.
He will need to convert his SC CDL to a Florida CDL when he gets here though. He will need to bring the license and his social security card to a Florida drivers license office, pass the eye test and pay $50 plus $5 for each endorsement he has, if any. Good luck to you both.
I'm a state of Florida driver license examiner.
