How much does your food service, waiter, or retail job pay?
Asked by stillunderpaid
Food Service and Retail pay sucks. If you have been on the same job awhile, and work in foodservice in the kitchen or as a waiter, how much did you start off making, and how much do you make now? Same for retial.

As a waitress I ranged from $5.90/hr to $7.00/hr In the retail industry now I started at $7.00/hr and am now at $10.00/hr, but that's for an assistant mgr position so it's pretty crappy too!(Canadian employed)

The only real money to be made in food service or retail is in the higher management positions or as the owner of the company. If you really want to make serious money start your own business in a field you enjoy. I'm in retail now as a support manager and only make $9.50 an hour and I work for the second biggest company in retail. I have started my own business an hope to be out of retail within a year.
