How many hours of work is considered to be full-time work in Canada?
Asked by Golden Green Leaves
Is it necessary to work 8 hours per day or is employment still considered full-time with a more flexible schedule, say working 5 hours on a particular day and maybe 9 hours on another depending on your schedule, but with the total equal to or above the minimum number of hours considered to be full-time? Thanks.

As long as you work over 37 1/2 hours a week, it's full time.

In general 35 to 40 hours a week is considered full time in Canada. Depends on the employer and the nature of the industry, flexible hours are possible.

Its all about time served for the week. It doesn't matter
if you work 35 hours straight or a few hours a day for 7 days.
Laws are different per province. So double check with your
employment bureau.
