Hello! i would like to work in Singapore as a kitchen staff (cook) in a restaurant. Can anyone give me a price range of the expenditures (cheapest room rental, food, utilities, publice transportation, other personal expenses) there so that i can compute the range of salary that i should expect and still have some savings? Room Rent in singapore is from 100SGD(shared by 3 other person) to 400SGD per month, Food 2 SGD to 15 SGD per meal, Utilities = 50 SGD p.mnth, Public Transport = MRT & Buses(Cheapest)-- from 64 cent to 2 SGD per trip, Taxi=Min.2.40 SGD, Other personal expenses= 100 SGD p.mnth. Expenses per month is around 1200 SGD per person. Besides this it depends on what kind of lifestyle you want. So on an average a person should have salary range starting from 2500 SGD to have a good life and have some savings.

All Asian countries are expensive. I have been there 5 times. Just let you know housing is hard to find.

I have lived around there. Alll Asian countries have plenty of unskilled manual workers and treat them like slaves. If you cannot get a good middle level office job, forget it.
