my brain hurts
Can I collect unemployment benefits if I am registered with a temp agency?
Asked by my brain hurts
My current assignment is wrapping up pretty soon, but I'm afraid I might not be able to find work when my current job is through. Can I collect unemployment benefits, and still remain registered with a temp agency or agencies?

Best Answer:
Be sure you stay registered with that agency. You will have to prove that you are. Also, whether or not you receive any benefits will be decided if that agency has indeed paid into unemployment taxes, how long you worked for that agency and what your wages were. You MUST not refuse any work, and as stated before, you must report any wages, before taxes, that you earn. Regardless of the amount - $50.00 or $500.00. Be sure that you keep in contact with the temp agency, daily if you have to, should you need to prove your availability. Keep a log of when you call, who you speak to, and the result.

A:
Yes. You will just have to claim all hours you worked. Then your check will be adjusted.
