What well-paid job could I do anywhere in the world?
Asked by who-reply
I'm getting out of the Army and want to train for a job that I can do almost anywhere in the world. I like to travel and don't want to be forced to rely on the US economy.
I've thought about training to be a helicopter pilot or Unix System Admin and would like other choices to consider.
Please help, especially if you have prior experience in the career field.
PS. I have the GI Bill which is worth approx. $40,000 for schooling

Anywhere around the world? Then for definite mate, be a pilot. This is a skill that you can get a job anywhere. You can fly even jets for top high flyers, or for airport, or even invest in teaching how to fly and be one of those top flying instructor like my friend is.
He goes all over the world and man, he loves it. Maybe, fixing planes. Or if not, then go into the I.T field. It's growing fast but, it's all becoming outsourcing to India and other countries. USA companies, UK companies moving all their I.T bit by bit to India. It's cheaper so, not much good money there in future, so go into piloting.

That all depends on what you love to do and what your dreams are of becoming. You could do anything from fighter pilot to business owner and make as much or as little money as you put effort into.

If you would like to work in the medical field a LPN(Licensed Practical Nurse) or an RN (Registered Nurse) is needed everywhere. The difference is one is an associates degree, the other is a bachelor's degree.

It seems to me that you are looking for a job where you can make a living, but be able to travel anywhere in the world. I would reccommend becoming a real estate agent. I have been a real estate broker for six years, and I can travel for as long and whenever I want because I make my own schedule. You can make large amounts of money at a time, and then travel the world. Good luck.

People will always have to pay taxes but would want to minimize it. Tax accounting is a very secure position.
Anything in medicine is good too. Physician's assistant. Psychology, without the Ph.D., etc.
Computers changes so fast, it's hard to keep up with, but if you love to play with gadgets and programs, then there's that too.
I'm a veteran myself. GI Bill came in handy for me. 'Wish you all the best!
