Best Answer:
Call your local community college or adult education system. Most of your CNA classes are offered through one of those, and one of your requirements for completeing the class is so many hours in a clinical setting (nursing home). Most of the schools have an agreement with the popular nursing homes in your area for their students to study there. Then once you are in the door for your school training, you open the possibility of proving yourself and being offered a position.

I would begin by calling them personally. Nothing better than being direct.

Call a local nursing home and ask them. But also check with your local workforce center-they would know as well. So would your local social services, long term care unit, or they could refer you to agencies that help with this. Hospitals also know.

Try calling some of the convalescent homes in your area. Where I live in California, some convalescent homes offer free CNA programs.

Look in the job ads...especially the Sunday editions. Most Nursing homes will advertise if they will hire and train you. Most Nursing homes do this, because they are so short staffed.
Open the phone book and start calling, speak with the DON or ADON.
