I am a lvn and I was wondering if there is a way I can become a radiologic technologist w/o much schooling?

I work nearly 60 hours a week and I need to work my schooling around my schedule. I don't want to quit my job.

Here in Florida you can get license/certification in four main categories: Basic X-Ray Machine Operator, General Radiographer, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, and Radiation Therapy Technologist. The Basic level doesn't require lengthy school. But for the General you will need to attend a school that is about 2 years long. Check with your state department of health or local college program for the best answers.

I'm going through the same situation as you right now! Over the weekend I was talking to an radiologic technologist and she suggested I call local hospitals because they offer two year programs here in Michigan, and I heard the tuition is not expensive at all! So if I were you I would call around to local hospitals or network with other radiologic techs.
