What do real estate brokers look for when hiring a sales associate?

I am a certified reasidential appraiser trainee, but never really followed throgh with that. I'm going back to school to get my 63 hours of the sales associates class and then taking the state exam. I live in Florida. When a broker hires a sales associate will the appraier certification give me the upper hand? sorry for the spelling errors i was in a rush.
