Work at home ideas for someone who has a severe back condition?
Asked by CJP
I have a back condition that keeps me from working a "regular" job. I need to be near a bed or couch to lay down when the pain gets too severe. I've had recent back surgery, but still having pain. I was wondering if there were any good work at home ideas where I could still be a productive member of society. My other alternative is to go on Social Security Disability. I don't want to do that. My skills are: Very skilled with computer hardware and software. I know J2SE (Java) extremely well (5 years on the job experience). Trying to learn J2EE. Very skilled at auto repair (Associates degree from tech college and 2 years experience). Definitely NOT a people person. I definitely prefer working with my hands or with a computer. I can not stand for very long at all, sitting is easier, but still hard. I can sit for maybe an hour or so, then I have to take a break. Opened up a web store briefly but since I have no income, it was difficult to support fees, etc. Wow, a lot of these are great ideas. I've stared at this for an hour. I'm going to have to put it to vote, I can't decide!
