AP is probably less of a hassle then AR because in AR if the company is not getting paid you have to make sure you do unless they have a collection department. AP is simply making sure invoices are legit and they are getting paid on time.

A:
Accounts Payable means you receive the invoice, match dollar amounts to purchase order and process for payment (the vendor). Accounts Receivable means you prepare the invoice based on items/services sold. Both require strong math skills, high attention to detail as well as excellant data entry skills. Not sure if there is a difference in starting pay. Prefer AP - more vendor interaction and the matching invoice to PO can be challenging.
