What is a reasonable starting pay (hourly) for a Painter with no experience?

You don't have to pay minimum wage if you are not an employer. If you are teaching this person to paint, you can pay them for their help. They are then students. You can also pay them for the job if they have not experience. Like maybe $20 for the first room and if it's good, go up from there. I pay my own sons when I ask them to paint or mow, etc. It's part of their chore list and my house is beautiful. If you are an employer, I'd say minimum is right even if the painter has no experience.
