How Hard Is It To A CDL Big Rig License In California?

Me & my wife are looking to become long haul truck drivers as a 'team'. We are currently living in California & were wondering how hard the tests were . . how much they cost .. how many . . etc. What is really involved in getting into this type of a career? Any help would be great... Thanks & keep on truckin.

Most states have truck driving schools. It costs a few thousand per person & the license is a couple hundred. The scary part is that you will be "well trained and on the road in 6 (SIX) weeks!!" Your wife may want to consider a few things. Trucking is perfect for anyone who doesn't mind... 1. Not eating when hungry 2. Not showering when dirty (or even everyday) 3. Not sleeping when tired 4. Rushing to get somewhere just to be told, "we'll get to you later, or tomorrow" 5. Using a Country Crock container as her portapotty!
