The hardest part about getting out of the military after 20 Years is finding a good job that utilizes all of your talents. I personally think that sometimes being in the military handicaps people, because in the military they pay for your housing, elec., etc. and when a person gets out in the real world they pretty much are lost. My father retired from the military and decided to continue working, unfortunately the job he has now doesn't need the talents he learned in the military.....also i got married to a naval man and he did his 5 years and got out (thank goodness) he decided that in order to get ahead these days you have to have a degree, he was a nuke mech on a submarine when he was in the military, so that pretty much left him with "Power Plant" facilities.......going back to college was the best thing he ever did, and now he is a design engineer. Oh and don't think your too old to go back to college because just recently my father decided to follow in my hubby's footsteps and well now he has a degree too at the age of 44 and that got him a higher position.
