How do I become a financial analyst if I have no experience?
Asked by SL1983
I just graduated with a finance degree 2 months ago, my big mistake was not doing an internship in my field. My career goal is to become a financial analyst. It seems like I am able to get some entry level interviews but other people that are interviewed have a better chance because they either did an internship or have some experinece. Seems like nobody is giving me the chance, so what do I do? Thanks

You need to keep trying. One thing perhaps you can do is find some financial analysts at local companies and see if they will do an informational interview with you. There you can ask questions about what the job entails, how they got there, and their opinion on what you can do and who you can talk to. See if there are any local groups in town that would have people that may know good contacts.

My husband works in Finance and he had internships while he was in college.
Since you can't change the fact that you didn't get an intertership in college, you can bite the bullet and get one now. It may be less pay in the beginning, but once you get some experience under your belt it may help to give you equal footing with other candidates who interview for those entry level positions 6 months - 1 year from now.
