How can I get an entry level industrial design job without a design degree?

I am a very inventive person who really wants try working in the industrial design field. I do not have a design degree. My background, both educational and professional, is in: Economics, Mathematics, Finance, and Information Technology.

dude, best advice i can give is to
just give it a whirl. u dont need a degee for these things if u got the talent and tenacity. take some classess on autocad,
books and stuff, then go for interviews with your portfolio.
i know, i dont have a degree, but here i am working in new york as a designer, based entirely on my portfolio, and im from freaking south east asia. granted it took a coupla years, but sacrifice is the key word.

put together a really good portfolio and try to highlight your ability and desire to learn? That's about all I can think of short of getting a degree or really lucky!

you still need to go to college to get a design degree in order to get into an industrial design job these days.
