Cable TV Tech job?

I have a physics degree and am trying to become employed as a cable TV technician but I have yet to get called to an interview. I know I will be good at the job because I always end up helping the techs when they come to fix our cable. Many of the techs have told me that I need to apply, but again I have gotten no response. What do you think the problem is?

If you live in or around Central/ Eastern Ohio I will give you a job working in the Satellite & Electronics industry. Screw CABLE...it sucks!
