Qualifications for a director or assistant director of a day care center?
Asked by CorinneI
I live in Illinois and I want to know what are the min. requirements to be either a director or assistant director of a day care center? I have a BA in psychology and I have about 9 hours in early childhood classes. I know that I could be a teacher because I briefly subed in a day care center before. I just want to know if I would have to take additional early child care courses in order to be qualifed for this type of postion?

I live ine Illinois and work in a daycare also. I think you need sixteen hours in EC and at least an associates degree. You could try contacting DCFS to check it out.
