For those who currently work as an Underwriter, what can you tell me about the job or work you do?

I'm thinking about a career change from an Accountant to an Underwriter, whether commercial or consumer loan underwriter. Just want to know more details about it, and if it's for me.

if you like working with people, claims isnt a bad direction to go. usually within insurance industry theres lots of room to move around in (im currently with one doing finance right now, but very easily i can move around to accounting, underwriting, marketing, risk management, etc). Try it out, see if you like it, thats my suggestion.

They just clear stipulations and get laons closed for consumers, a pretty easy gig, although stressful at times.
