All the people doing the work right now were certainly hired long ago, through the safety / environental training and been through the security checks.
This month, they're using a lot of X-ray and ultra-sound techs and subcontractors to figure out how bad things are and how much needs to be replaced.
If BP decides to replace all those transit lines, that will be a ton of work, akin to a mini-Alaskan Pipeline of the mid-1970s. Then it would depending on who wins the bids to do that work.
Veco and Haliburton will certainly get a piece of the action, maybe a majority of it. They are the incumbant oil-field services firms in Deadorse/Prudhoe Bay now. Check their websites for hiring info.
Check the Anchorage Daily News and Fairbanks Daily News-Miner on-line for want ads.
I live in AK, I know a lot of north-slope workers. I consult to oil companies for spill clean-up.
