Is it weird for a girl to be a mechanic?
Asked by ♀♥♂☮Trippy Hippie☮♂♥♀
I'm 17. It's kind of hard for me to find a job. I found an opening at the Jiffy Lube in the paper and it says no experience required, they will train, ages 17+ for auto work among other things. I think I can do it, but I've just never seen a young female mechanic before. Is it weird for such a thing?

Not at all, In fact I know alot of guys myself included that love girls that can fix cars and such. Look at Jesse Combs on Extream 4X4. In my opinion one of the coolest girls out there. You should go for it if thats what you want.

If that's your calling, let it be. May be fun and a cool new experience too.

Automotive is a lousy dirty low paying field to go into, if you must bend wrenches use that to get into diesel mechanics, it pays better.
