how much does it cost to go to truck driving school?
Asked by carrie love
I am thinking of getting my class A cdl, but I'm not sure how much it costs for schooling. Also, do they offer evening classes so that I don't have to quit my job to go to school? What about driving a dump truck, is that a different cdl and do you have to go to school for that? I live in Ohio. Any help or advice is appreciated.
P.S. No rude comments about women drivers please, I am doing this with the hopes of getting a local job and being able to drive with my husband over-the-road when I can.

Going to truck school for your class A cdl usually cost between $2500 - $6000. The cost are lower at community colleges than at private schools. To drive a dump truck all you need is a class B cdl, schools usually charge about $900 for the class B cdl course. I got my training for the class B cdl free by applying for a school bus driver job.

My mum used to drive a truck. But I don't care too much for my mum because she was never home and when she was she was too busy with her trucking company to be a mother. Not preaching or trying to be rude, but it would be better if you just got in phonebook and called them yourself.

I'm female and I've done my HGV licenses. It's about 900 to 1000 pounds (uk) per test over here. It can be fun seeing the men's faces!
