Going back to welding school, what should be my main focus? Where is there more money? What kind of Welding?

Went to welding school before for in 2002 about 6 months but then dropped out. Going back to school in Sep.What i wanna get is for the license for city or state. Is welding a good career, i live in california, los angeles area.

Get into a union ,my friend works in one, n he says that I should get into a carrier like welding.There is a large demand for welders on the pipe lines try it out.

you can get good paying jobs welding all day but that take a toll on your body, fabrication and tig welding is were the money is at

My nephew has his B pressure ticket and is an oilfield welder..his truck earns $1,000/day. We live in Alberta but I would imagine the oilfields in CA pay similar.
