How much does a oil field driller make? (not directional driller)?

Per year and per hour? My dad wants to get a job as one.

I am in Alberta, and my entire family works in the oilfield. The driller who lives here earns just over $34/hr and works 12 hr shifts. He also gets $100/day tax free living allowance. His average paycheque is around $5,000 every 2 weeks. You have to start off as a leasehand or a roughneck though, and they don't earn nearly that much. But, once you have been a driller, you work your way up to Toolpush or Rig Manager. They take home around $10,000 every 2 weeks.....$1,100/day gross.

PER HR...maybe 18-20 dollars
