Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth
Does anyone know a property management company that is hiring?
Asked by Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth
I recently graduated from West Virginia University and I have spent the last five years working in EVERY aspect of property management. I am currently looking for a job, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I have also spent five years working in every aspect of the foodservie industry. I have worked at two properties each holding 600 residents, and having full-service houekeeping. I was also employeed as a Student Manager in a college foodservice environment. Thank You. And no Property management is not selling houses. Property management is managing an apartment building, condo, dorm, garden style apartment complex, office building, hotel/resort, or other structure that is leased or managed for someone or for a company or condo board/

DEAR ERIC, TRY NEW JERSEY, WE HAVE MANY MANY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANIES. I REALLY DON'T KNOW IF YOU WOULD BE HAPPY HERE AND THIS IS WHY.... I PERSONALLY HAVE HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH MY MANAGEMENT COMPANIES AS I SOMETIMES THINK THEY ARE REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE THEY HIRE INSTEAD OF ME, SO MAYBE YOU CAN HELP. THERE ARE NO LAWS AT ALL ON WHAT MANAGEMENT COMPANIES ARE ABLE TO DO AND NOT DO AND THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE YOU HAVE AS A PROPERTY OWNER IS TO SUE THEM. IF I KNEW HOW I WOULD SEND YOU A PICTURE OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I KNOW YOU ASKED THE QUESTION, ERIC, BUT IS THERE ANYTHING A HOME OWNER CAN DO IF THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY, THE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT AND AND THE LANDSCAPER DON'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT MY PROPERTY AND POSSIBLY SOMEONE IS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH. I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM FOR MANY YEARS WITH A MUDDY BACK AREA AND RIGHT NOW IT IS COMPLETE DIRT/THE WHOLE AREA UNTIL IT RAINS AND THEN IT IS MUD. OUR MANAGEMENT COMPANY ALONG WITH THE BOARD PRESIDENT HIRED SOMEONE TO DO THE LANDSCAPING AND HE DOESN'T THINK HE HAS TO DO ANYTHING TO MY PROPERTY BECAUSE THE LAST LANDSCAPER BEFORE HE WAS HIRED GUARANTEED A DRAIN HE PUT IN SO THIS NEW LANDSCAPER HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING BUT PASS OVER OUR PROPERTY AS THERE IS NO GRASS TO CUT. . I BELIEVE THIS IS A DRAINAGE PROBLEM AS MY NEW NEIGHBOR'S SURVEYOR SAID THAT IN HIS REPORT AND THE PREVIOUS LANDSCAPER PUT A DRAIN IN BUT I BELIEVE IT IS IN THE WRONG AREA AND THE ASSOCIATION ALONG WITH THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY AND THE NEW LANDSCAPER THINKS IT IS OKAY TO DO NOTHING ABOUT AN AREA THAT WAS GORGEOUS WHEN I MOVED IN. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING I COULD THINK OF EXCEPT CALLING "7 ON YOUR SIDE" AND I CONTINUE TO HAVE MUD AND I CONTINUE TO PAY A MONTHLY MAINTENANCE FEE OF $320. ANY ADVISE FOR BLUE. I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE SOMEONE FROM WEST VIRGINIA BEING ABLE TO PUT UP WITH WHAT GOES ON WITH MANAGEMENT COMPANIES UNLESS THE ONES YOU DEALT WITH WERE REALLY HONEST. I
