Best Answer:
If you want $10 an hour ask for $11.50. He will negotiate down no matter what. Be prepared to explain why you deserve such a raise and point out what YOU can do other employees can not such as your bilingual skills. To speak more than one language in a doctors office can be very important. Make sure he understands that. Point out what else you do, in addition list things you do in addition to your job description. Keep a positive attitude and don't let them bargain you down. If he does not give you what you want, start looking for a job where they would appreciate you more. Good luck to you.

A:
at least 2 dollars an hour. go in with strong statistics on what you do and how you make them earn more money and what your value is.

ask for at least 10.00, no lower than that, tell your boss that you feel like you are an asset to the workplace and absolutely love working with people and that you love the people you work with. Sell yourself as much as possible, and always make eye contact. Good luck sweetie.

You need to look at the market. How replacable are you? Not trying to be rude, just put yourself in their shoes. If you know they need you, I would say $10 minimum in most areas. Also show that you are improving yourself, thus leading them to realise they need you more than you need them.

A raise that is more than cost of living usually requires you to take on more responsibility or if you already have but just not 'officially', point that out. I do not know how much you should ask for...this depends in part on where you live.
