I know that a fashion designer is kind of similar to a fashion merchandiser. What are the differences?

Two occupations fashion design and fashion merchandising are similar, but not exactly alike. Do you know the difference between the two. My major is not fashion, it's either engineering or math.

two totally separate careers. a designer designs the clothing from sketch to finish. a merchandiser works for a store a dresses store mannequins or windows

In simple terms, I believe that a designer is responsible for the actual creation of the clothing, wheras the the merchandiser is responsible for the overall display and presentation (either to the buyers or to the consumers.)

Well quite simply,ones a clothes maker and the other is a clothes seller Or if you like ones a manufacturer and ones a shopkeeper
