What is the maximum number of hours a laborer can be scheduled to work in the state of California?

Check the Labor Board. It has changed several times in California. It used to be anything over 40 hours a week would be time and a half. Then that changed to anything over 8 hours a day would be time and a half. Now I think it's changed again.

Without overtime, the maximum of hours in 8 hours/day (if you work 5 days a week), 40 hours/week (standard), or 80 hours/2 week (if paid bi-monthly and if they are a certified excusion: aka hospitals and other emergency care centers). If they pay you overtime, then as many as they want as long as it isn't over (and this is a guess) 72 consecutive hours.
