How much do high school science teachers in a pretty wealthy public school district make?

Best Answer:
Depends on the state. I lived in Illinois and teachers pay really depended on their CREDENTIALS. And a wealthy school district didn't make much of a difference.... Chicago Public has some of the poorest schools and some of the highest salaries around, for example. Our school district was okay, not particularly wealthy and there was a website where you could see all the teacher's salaries. Some 4th grade teachers made $45,000 and at the same school, a more educated teacher made $85,000 for the same job. I can't speak for high school with the exception that I did look to see how much a friend of mine who was a gym teacher and coach made. Her salary was $58,000. This school district was in a southeast suburb of Chicago.

A:
The same as a high school science teacher in a broke-dick district. Teachers in public schools are state employees. It doesn't matter where they teach. Tenure and education are the only ways to get a raise.
