How can someone get started as an Insurance Agent?

I have worked at a bank for a few years and have an insurance license and a Bachelors degree In Business. I would like to be a Insurance Agent but i have to have income even while I train. What are my options and how are agents compensated even during training..and what kind of hours do they work? To start your own business with a company like Edward Jones it requires...lots and lots of time...and your not paid well the first year at all...scary!! I need a stable salary to get set up and while I train....anybody that knows please help!!!

look at companies that offer agency partneship that will split commission with you as well as renewals. really its kinda of hard to start on your own if you have some money saved up you can start on your own and look for a night part time job because really the first year you not gonna see any profits. im here in GA im looking at opening up my own agency and im looking at those options.i ts really hard but dont give up
