Asked by erik c
I mean i have a degree in criminal justice admin and experience as a armed security officer 3 years and clerical working with a law firm for 2 years. There is only like 2 security companies in this area that pay adult liveable wages . Most pay starting at 7 bucks an hour and i made 20 before getting here. Now, im willing to take a cut in pay, but not that much of a cut. I made more then that when i was in high school. Any suggestions?..

My hubby is in law enforcement. He faced the same problem. His solution: relocate to an area that did pay the wages he needed. You may have to consider moving elsewhere. You have to go where the jobs are located. You can visit family.

Where did you live in High School? If you made more in High School but lived in an expencive area, you may not have been actually making more. Some times you just have to pay your dues and work your way up. If the top of the ladder is not attainable, or the wage there is not what you want, you might have to swithc fields.

It's not what you want to hear, but it looks as though you won't be able to find a decent security job. I suggest trying to find a clerical job. They will probably pay more and there will be a lot more job openings . You do have 2 years of experience..so I think they will give you a reasonable salary. The other option is to relocate or expand your region of interest. If you do not want to move, you would have to endure a long commute. Good luck.
