If all my career movement has been with one small company is that going to hurt my resume?

I started working in the shop while I went to college. Over the years I progressed through the company, General Labor, Machine Operator, Dept. Head, Engineer, Manager, Plant Manager then General Manager. This is really the only job of note that I have had. How do I keep it from raising any "red flags" on a resume or during an interview?

i think it should help you not harm you....being with the same company for so long means you were dependable and you did go up the ladder so to speak...i think it would sound good on a resume and i do not see any red flags myself ....
my answer and my opinion to this question.....my son has did the same thing, now he is overseer of other managers....good job there keep it up..

Times are changing, and job hopping every few years is now frowned upon. Companies are finally realizing that people who stay with one company are a valuable asset because you'll likely stay with them. They now realize that training a new employee costs a ton of money. They pay hiring bonuses, and it takes even a quick learner months to be able to contribute instead of sucking up time with newbie questions and mistakes. Unless you're the owner's son (that could make it look like you didn't earn those promotions), your resume should take you far. .

I would have to say that your commitment and dedication to this job is what is going to impress whom ever you interview with. You dont often find someone that stays with a company very long and works their way up the ranks, as it appears you have. You should be proud and dont worry about it. You should be thankful you are not one of those people that have 7 jobs to list with 2 years at each.
