Managing Editors are responsible for the assignment, priority, and editing of the newspaper. Managing Editors also usually participate in writing for the newspaper. In leading their team, they are ultimately responsible for the staff under them, story popularity and accuracy, and relationships with subscribers, civic, government, and leaders within their area of responsibility. A Managing Editor usually has Editors below him/her to handle individual sections of the newspaper. As well, they usually decide what gets on the front page!

The role of a Managing director (MD) is to design, develop and implement the strategic plan for their company in the most cost effective and time efficient manner. The Managing director is responsible for both the day-to-day running of the company and developing business plans for the long term future of the organisation. The Managing director is accountable to the board and the shareholders of the company. It is the board that grants the Managing director the authority to "run" the company. So it doesnt really make a differnce whether this role is in news agency or any other business>you just need to understand the concept.
