Ask if you can do an advanced course in customer care, or if you have that then ask if there are any courses to further your development and enhance your career prospects within the company. Emphasise the fact that your call turnover is quick enough and that you are not always in 'idle mode' or 'not ready' or whatever you call it there, like some other people do. Honestly, they love a bit of initiative!

I can’t imagine why anyone would want to even try to put any effort into working hard at a call center position…. and I say this from years of experience. To answer the question though: Call Center management, no matter what type of “spin” they want to put on it, all looks for one thing – numbers. If you show you can produce the numbers they want and need, then you have bargaining leverage to ask for more projects and/or more responsibility. If you like to crunch some numbers you can also research Six Sigma practices and information. Although this is traditionally used in the manufacturing industries, it is also finding some use in call centers. Unfortunately, creativity goes for almost nothing in a call center. In fact, being creative can be detrimental to your career in this type of position. Squash the creativity bug and stick to the raw facts and numbers. This might all sound harsh, but call center managers are not very tolerant or sensitive, despite what they might have you believe..

Dont sound like you are reading from a script. When the person on the other end of the phone is talking to you try and sound interested.
