What is the best way to pursue an accounting career?
Asked by person20
I'm at a 4 year college now, and have my first two years almost complete. Is there anything specific I should do, or just continue taking the classes that I need to complete my accounting degree?

Just take the courses but my suggestion is to divert to Banking & Finance as a better career path. The path for an Accountant is just too tough. In order to get CPA, you need many years of working experience in various industries. More importantly you don't get high salaries for that. But if you were to switch to Banking & Finance, you do half the work and get paid double the amount for working in a cosy office in a downtown posh office. You decide. Join Beta Alpha Psi. It's the national accounting fraternity but it's not a fraternity the way most people think of fraternities. If you can join and get involved it will set you up with future employers and give you a much better idea of what sort of path you want to follow within the accounting profession.
