Is being a tanker truck driver a good way to make a living?

i did delivery for Texaco(boston) back in the late 80's
didnt feel my life was worth the cash
had 1 trailer catch fire that was enough for me!!
now i deliver cars.... more $$ but longer hours

You have to be willing to spend lots of time away from home, drive for hours on end, day in day out. If you REALLY like driving it may be good for you, you can make a reasonable living.
