Do architects design any of the structural plans like foundation, roofs, floor framing etc. or only engineers?

I work for a residential design firm, not architectural firm and we do all the structural and then get it enginnered by a structural engineer. Do architects do any of the structural or do they just depend totally on the engineer??

I think if it's standard stuff then the architect can do it. If there are concerns about load calculations like for roofs in hurricane territory, etc. and the permit office / inspector is going to want to see the calcs, then they need to be done by a structural engineer. but ask your boss, they'll know! :-)
