Career Questions and Answers

What is a reasonable hourly wage for a full-time housekeeper?
Asked by happy heathen
Job includes all housekeeping duties, including laundry and food shopping, for a family of two adults, 2 kids, and four infants. Large home in an affluent, semi-rural area (horse farms). Point of reference: teenagers are paid $7 an hour as stablehands. Serious answers only, please. Interview is pending. Thanks!

Honestly, I don't know if a semi-rural area makes much difference. It might. It really depends on cost of living in the area. I don't think $20/hour would be too much, but I don't think I would go over that. I would make two suggestions to try to make the fairest offer: 1) Call a maid service and find out how much they charge. 2) If the person has experience, find out how much they made on previous jobs. I hope that helped. Good luck!

someone who will do a good job anywhere between 12-14 dollars an hour or just give them a weekly rate of 800.00
