What do you need to do to become a Nanny?
Asked by electrical2601
My fiance wants to become a home care Nanny. She doesn't have a college degree though. What do you need to do to become a legal Nanny. If it requires a license, how do you get one?

Not sure what state your from but in Canada all you need is a police report. Having a clear record and St. Johns First Aid and W.H.I.M.S. and you have it made.

There is nothing required to be a nanny in the US ... CPR and First Aid are things that most parents want nannies to have. If she wants to do in-home daycare, on the other hand - that does require a license and the requirements vary based on what county and state you live in. I would recommend finding some of the online nanny resources and see if there are families in your area who are looking for a nanny. Tell her to apply and get her name out.
