Best of luck in your job search. I own a small recruiting firm in Southern CA and sales account for approx 25% of our business. Our clients pay acct execs anywhere from $40K to $125K base salary. Most of a acct exec's compensation comes from commission. Total comp ranges for our searches are between $60K & $300K.
My recommendation is to jump on Monster and scope out relevant positions. Often, the company will NOT post the compensation package...but you can always email the recruiter (internal or external) and ask them for the compensation range for the position. Be sure to ask what they were told is the expected total compensation. If you word it like that, they won't feel committed to giving you a number because their clients will tell them that information. Essentially, they're not promising anything to you -- it's a basic answer vs. a committal. Make sense?

Probably high....but so is the cost of living. :o)
It's not what you make - It's how much you get to keep.

Check out http://www.monster.com for average salary & benefit info for the area. You can customize it by the education and responsibilities.
If you have a similar job in the area you're in now, you can go here: http://www.moving.com/Find_A_Place/Calculators/SalaryCalc/ and plug in the new city, and it will tell you how much money you'll need to make to keep your standard of living.
