Sure no problem you have the licence ..it's like drivers licence ..once you got it ..you got it

A:
You need to update your certificate, according to International Organization of Standards. ISO It is almost the same thing as driving without a proper driver's license.

It may be the same as lgv/psv, you may need an assessment first.

When I had a forklift license you always had to get recertified every year. I had one In California and was a certified driver. I moved and will have to get recertified by new company.

Unless things have changed in past couple of years, then technically you do not have to have a licence on private premises but if there was an accident you and the company would be held totally to blame and could go to jail - you woldnt have a leg to stand on because you have no 'proof' that you were competent. Even a licence alone is not proof that you are a safe operator. Most companies will insist on a current licence and annual refresher training. If they dont, then watch out, cos they dont give a damn about H & S or peoples lives. If you havent driven a forklift for several years you are not safe to drive one now. Where are you going to practice, on site and hope your lucky enough not to kill anyone!!!!!!! You can brush up your skills prior to a retest if you have a qualified operator watching and supervising in a safe environment. Have a word with your local job centre/employment advisor - often they will put you on a course free of charge because there is always demand for forklift drivers. Alternatively a company may be prepared to put you through a refresher course. In saying that, after 5 years you would propably be recommended to do the full certification again, not just the annual check-up.

A fork truck licence in the Uk needs a refresher course every 3 years. Similar to a lot of vocational licences within the warehouse and transport industry etc. eg First aid or Fire courses are every 3 years also. Dont worry, with your experience, tell an employer, and you could easily get a new certificate from just a 1 day course. Good Luck
