How many years of experience as a military Air Traffic controller do you need to get into the FAA?
Asked by atcsd
I am a four year enlistee in the Air Force. I have three years of experience as an air traffic controller. I am up for reenlistment in a few months. I want to know if the FAA will hire someone with only 3 years of experience? What are the chances of getting hired as an ex air force controller? And I am only CTO rated(the manning has been low so I couldnt obtain a dual rating)? If you are in the FAA please respond...I need inside guidance. Thank you for looking,

You need at least 3 years dealing with heavy aircraft. The chance of you getting hired with military experience are very good because they tend to take veterans and active military first. Try Monster.com and careerbuilder.com both of those sites have had jobs in the past.
