I am a REALTOR in the state of Louisiana. Where I work, a normal commission is 6%. This 6% is divided in 4. 1/4 goes to the selling agent, 1/4 goes to selling broker, 1/4 goes to buyers agent, 1/4 goes to buyers broker. If it's w/the same agency- 1/4 goes to selling agent, 1/4 goes to buyers agent, 2/4 goes to broker. If it's same agent- 2/4 to dual agent...2/4 goes to broker. So let's say it is the first example...If I sold a house that sold for $135,000.00-and I only represented the seller-My commission would be: $2025.00 The total commission would be $8100.00. I hoped this helped! Let me know if you need some help figuring out something!
