Is it a reasonable goal at 35 to pursue a career as a commercial airline Pilot?
Asked by Wayne H
I am 35 years old and I own a very busy service facility. Although I enjoy my job I have always wanted to get my pilots license and see how far I can take it. I have my Grade 12, my automotive technicians license but no other post secondary education.

Anything is possible, regardless how old you are - going to be. It is viable to get your credentials as a multi-turbine aviator. but it can get expensive, because there are not that many civilian operated flying schools that can teach a private citizen to be qualified on the operation of a commercial airliner. The majority of commercial airline pilots got their flight trainning in the armed forces: i.e.; Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines. You will have to do it the hard way, as a civil aviator. It is possible, and eventually when you do get your credentials, remember that the FAA does enforce the mandatory retirement age of 55. So get on it. Time is running out!!! cheers babe!
