Career Questions and Answers

How to become a hollywood director/producer/assistant director/manager?
Asked by Hermione_Granger
My question is.... What does it take to work in the movie business? I love planning/coordinating things and I think I'm pretty good at it too. Add that to the fact that I love movies and tvs and always wonder how special effects are done or WHY some scenes are shot at specific angles, I think this could be a very interesting career for me. I'm almost graduating from high school and my gpa is around 3.7 so I think I can get into most universities. So readers, can you give me a few suggestions on which school is best for these kind of jobs, and what major I need. BTW, universities and high academic post institution are mandatory for me in case I do not succeed in this business

from someone that knows how? maybe a director that you like where did they go to school... (at least they know how they did it!!!) what kind of movies different schools have their cliques and connections... this appears headed toward the digital mass media area probably because they were considered one of the better computer science schools in the earlier day of computers... http://media.comm.fsu.edu/ Check which schools teach what you like and want to do... . . OH, other things to consider http://disney.go.com/disneycareers/disneycollegeprogram/ I believe that some of these are movie related as well. . . in Orlando, FL (housing is provided - and most participant say that they "break even" -money- while in this program) http://www.wdwcollegeprogram.com/sap/its/mimes/zh_wdwcp/students/majors/majors.html and http://www.wdwcollegeprogram.com/sap/its/mimes/zh_wdwcp/students/majors/Radio.pdf . .
